Kitchen
Asked to deliver a black and white Boho house, Sean and Ella certainly chose the right colour palette in the kitchen. Black cabinetry (Polytec in matt black) and white benchtops (Caesarstone in Vanilla Noir) are warmed up with a timber slab. Judge Wendy Moore complimented the team on the great floor plan and use of space as well as the terrific splashback. “I liked the pink fridge (Smeg) but you needed some more pink on the other side of the room to balance it,” she said about the use of the stand-out colour.
Dining room
Trying to deliver a Boho look with a hint of pastel turned out to be a difficult task for the teams but Laurence was impressed with Andrew and Jono’s “Mad Hatter’s tea part” in the dining room. Wendy felt it was too cluttered and the pendant was the wrong choice for the room as it didn’t create much-needed intimacy.
Bathroom
The family’s main bathroom had a great layout and Wendy applauded the beautiful feature tiles (Beaumont) on the wall, however, she thought the floor tiles didn’t meet the ‘no faux’ house rule.

Ensuite
An old cabinet was repurposed for the vanity. While Wendy liked the idea, she felt the top wasn’t finished enough to withstand day-to-day use. However, she showered support on the fantastic seat/shelf in the shower.
Bedroom
Aaron and Daniella chose to introduce their own design, a bed head, to the room, and while Wendy appreciated the effort, she felt that it didn’t work here and wasn’t rich enough.
Study nook
While the study zone scored high for its look, the judges found it impractical as the desk was too high, the chair too laid-back and there was not enough task lighting. The judges, however, praised the style choices and cohesive room.
Xaviers bedroom
Brimming with aesthetic appeal, the room was a hit in terms of theme but fell short on the planning. Wendy suggested taking more time to plan and putting the homeowner and function at the forefront. Tent and various other furniture and accessories are from Hip Kids.
Laundry
Wendy commented on the luxurious amount of space but felt that the design could have been improved.
White goods are from SMEG, splashback is from Australian Pressed Metal, sink and mixer is from Highgrove Bathrooms and light is from Beacon Lighting.
Bonus kids’ playroom
Aaron and Daniella tackled this room and while it had its merits, Wendy felt they missed the mark and suggested to have a bit more fun about it and think logically about what is needed, such as extra seats for mates.
Furniture and accessories are from Out of the Cot, various toys are from Kidstuff and the television is from Panasonic.
