A tired and dated kitchen gets a light, bright makeover

This Sydney kitchen was crying out for a major overhaul. The cork floor tiles were chipped, parts of the laminate benchtop were worn through, wall tiles had fallen off and the cabinetry was suffering from severe water damage. The cramped layout needed some attention too.

Woodstone Kitchens reconfigured the space, relocating the fridge to make room for larger units and more bench space. The existing cupboards were replaced with ‘Townhouse’ polyurethane-coated units in Dulux Vivid White, from Woodstone Kitchens, topped with hard-wearing Caesarstone benchtops in Raven. In the dining zone, a ‘Cape’ dining table from Freedom and ‘Swiss Farm’ chairs from Coco Republic create a classic look.

A fresh coat of paint – Dulux Wash & Wear in Antique White – lightened and brightened the space. All the appliances, including the Whirlpool side-by-side fridge and dishwasher, were selected in stainless steel for a uniform finish. The Oliveri under-mounted sink and Dorf ‘Kytin’ tap, both from Hardware & General, help maximise bench space and reduce visual clutter. A chic splashback in glossy ‘Bevel’ tiles from Beaumont Tiles now epitomises the kitchen’s fresh and traditional feel, with Quick-Step ‘U1043’ laminate flooring in Oiled Walnut chosen for its practicality and warm tone.
