Layout & furniture
Once dark and dull, the living room was reconfigured to focus on the paned window and pretty garden vista. “Adding lightness and elegance was our top priority,” explains interior designer Camilla Molders. The newly upholstered sofa now faces outwards, accompanied by a stylish glass and brass coffee table, found on Ebay. An armchair in Schumacher ‘Imperial Trellis’ fabric and velvet ottoman, together with cushions in a vivid Schumacher ‘Hot House’ print, deliver luxurious flourishes of green.
Built-in shelving
With boxes of books piling up around the house, a spacious shelving unit was needed to contain and display the cherished collection. The roomy new bookcase, custom-built by Almara Cabinets, is painted in fresh Wattyl Stalactite and fits perfectly with the handsome scheme.
Natural accents
Drawing inspiration from the outdoors, Camilla peppered the space with verdant green accents, anchored by a tactile cream rug.
Palette
A pared-back grey and green colour scheme imbues the space with timeless appeal. Walls in calming Dulux Tranquil Retreat and a cushy sofa upholstered in ‘Grange’ from Unique Fabrics are set off by cushions in an appealing mix of patterns and textures.
