Family space
Impractical design and dated finishes were the impetus for this master bathroom refresh – an awkward corner spa, tired cream tiles and jarring black fixtures simply had to go. Everything but the original heritage plasterwork was stripped out, making way for a brand new look. Now, a sophisticated palette of deep grey, black and white weaves through the zone, with playful patterns and accessories adding an element of surprise.
Tiles
Concrete-look ‘Belgium Stone’ porcelain tiles in Lavagna Lapparto from National Tiles strike an industrial note. To offset the expanse of grey, cheerful Ziporah towels from Southwood were selected.
Shower
The dramatic feature wall in the shower recess is lined with ‘Hex’ mosaic tiles in Black from Urban Edge Ceramics and the flexible ‘Mero System 1’ dual shower from Rogerseller. A Marpei ‘Keracolor’ polymer grout in a mid-grey tone was chosen to blend with the bathroom’s other tiles.
Vanity
A Catalano ‘C3 CX 55’ basin from Rogerseller joins forces with a Corian benchtop to deliver a shot of crisp white to the grey room. The floating vanity is in Dulux Vivid White 2-pac. The ‘Glacier’ mirrored shaving cabinet from Reece runs the length of the vanity and was a practical pick – it’s deep enough to fit beauty products and hair dryers, with power points hidden inside. The custom-made wall-hung cabinet in Dulux Black provides additional storage.
