Love it or list it? He’s making a tree change.
Only two years after he purchased the apartment in the Sydney suburb of Alexandra, The Block judge and past Vogue Living editor in chief Neale Whitaker, with his partner David Novak-Piper has listed the stunningly decorated property for sale.
You wont be surprised at the eclectic mix of high-end furnishings, collected artworks and clever use of space in the inner city warehouse style apartment – its north-facing aspect and spacious balcony allowing in plenty of covetable natural light not ordinarily experienced in apartment living.
The apartment measures 135 square metres in size and has two bathrooms and two bedrooms. A dab hand at making the most of an interior space, Whitaker has cleverly added an outdoor room where the master bedroom was originally – allowing for a seamless flow onto the roomy deck – perfect for his two large Weimaraner dogs, Otis and Ollie.
Originally drawn to the property’s soaring concrete ceilings and leafy outlook, the couple plan to purchase a smaller property as a Sydney base and relocate their home to the South Coast, now that work commitments are more flexible.
“It’s very unusual for us to be moving on [from a home] as quickly as this,” Whitaker told Domain. “We have a huge love of the South Coast, particularly the Berry area. We’ve been going back and forth from there for many, many years and suddenly realised, there’s nothing to stop us now from having our main home further out of the city, that’s been our dream probably for the last 10 years,” he said.
But with demand for Sydney property continuing to fall, the couple may find themselves struggling to make a profit on the property.
The property is schedule to go to auction on 19th May. See the full listing here.
