Twilight star Nikki Reed is known for her roles on screen and her work in sustainability off-screen, but now she’s revealing a whole new side of herself – renovation enthusiast and interior design lover.
The actor and co-founder of eco-conscious jewellery brand Bayou With Love has begun sharing her deeply personal renovation journey on Instagram, offering a rare glimpse inside the farm she shares with husband Ian Somerhalder just outside of Los Angeles.

“A whole new chapter of life is unfolding,” she writes in her first reno-focused post. “Since I began renovating the farmhouse a few years ago, I discovered in myself a whole new area of passion – construction and interior design.”

It’s not just a side hobby. Nikki, who has long championed a zero-waste lifestyle, is infusing that same intention into her home. Her ranch is designed with reclaimed wood, solar panels, water conservation systems and hand-built features that reflect her artistic lineage – she’s the granddaughter of a celebrated ceramicist.

“Architecture and design live in my blood,” she says. “I have always admired the idea of making art and home ‘one’.” Her home taps perfectly into the rise of the ‘rich ranch’ aesthetic – where rustic charm meets refined, nature-inspired luxury.

One of the spaces she’s unveiled so far is a bathroom that’s been transformed from the ground up. “My first time taking walls down to nothing but studs, and bringing a space to life from dust and wood,” she shares.
The end result is a calm, rustic retreat that merges the natural world with modern function. A classic clawfoot tub, barn doors, oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and home-made wooden shelving come together in a palette of earthy tones and textures.

“I wanted my horses to be able to come into this space with me.”

Nikki worked with Signature Hardware to bring the design sensibility from her ethical jewellery brand into the home. While the results look effortless, she’s honest about the process behind the scenes: “Construction is something else, let’s be honest. It takes equal parts Type A/micromanaging and complete surrender.”

As she continues to share before-and-afters, mood boards and tips, Nikki says she hopes it inspires others to lean into their own creative callings. “Ladies, please remember it is never too late to discover something new about yourself,” she adds. “And fellas, one thing I have learned from managing different construction projects is that it’s okay to give a gal her own tool box.”

With a deep love of nature and a passion for sustainable design, Nikki Reed’s renovation journey is shaping up to be one of the most inspiring yet. The small town of Forks in Twilight might have had its charm, but this earthy California haven? It leaves the Cullen house in the dust.
