Exterior
Just as you might expect from its magnificent exterior, this recently renovated home is filled with brilliant design ideas.
Dining room
B&B Italia’s striking ‘Seven’ table, available from Space, was the shape of choice for the dining room. In keeping with the minimalist style, the table is topped with Iittala ‘Nappula’ candlesticks from Stem, and surrounded by sleek Kartell ‘Masters’ chairs. Bi-fold doors can be thrown open in the warmer months, and lead to an outdoor lounge and kitchen that reflect the warm tones and textures inside.
Courtyard
The focal point of this elegant outdoor space is a luxe Zendo ‘Manutti’ modular lounge from Cosh Living, teamed with an orange chevron Fab Habitat rug. Behind the alfresco kitchen, a lovely sculptural piece from Singapore seemingly dissolves into a wall painted in Dulux Monument.
Kitchen
A splashback in gold rippled tiles from Di Lorenzo and a Foscarini ‘Allegro Vivace’ pendant light from Space are stand-out features in the kitchen, cleverly chosen to complement – rather than compete with – each other.
Living room
Comfort comes first in the living room, furnished with a plush custom-made sofa and a monochrome Calvin Klein rug (try Bayliss). The staircase is also a study in neutrals, with inky tallow boards providing a contrast to the Dulux White On White walls and a steel screen and balustrade.
Kitchen
The kitchen centrepiece was always going to be the custom-made concrete island bench. A must include was the breakfast bar, matched with stools from Insitu/Cafe Culture. Cabinetry finished in timber veneer, built by Tim Maybury at TSM Cabinets, provides a natural touch and keeps the focus on the main attractions.
Pantry/wine cellar
Tucked behind the kitchen is a chic pantry and wine cellar – no temperature control necessary, thanks to the home’s sandstone foundations. A strip of uplighting sets a glamorous tone.
Main bathroom
Behind the bathroom’s exquisite looks are practical design features, including an Italian-made ‘Goccia’ overhead bath spout from Gessi and a Cocomo Living tub. Curved stone feature tiles add another dimension, creating a woven textural pattern on the wall. The ‘Habitat’ curved cladding in Silver came from Surface Gallery.
Study
The sophisticated yet pared-back style continues in the study-with-a-view. A soft velvet couch, topped with comfy cushions, beckons at break time. For similar teardrop pendants, visit Special Lights.
