This family are home for the holidays wherever they go.
Michael and Carlene have gone from strength to strength since appearing on The Block. They have started their own design business, Cedar & Suede and renovated a monster of a fixer-upper in the Gold Coast hinterland, to create a stunning family home.
By now dab hands at renovating and not content to sit on their hands, they took on the renovation of not one, but two vintages caravans, with marvellous results.

A palette of varying shades of green, offset by brass and gold fixtures makes up the colour scheme Carlene developed for Vonnie. After a soft, relaxed, natural vibe, she opted for a muted green from White Knight paints called ‘Sussex’ and paired it with plenty of Crisp White. Vonnie’s makeover has resulted in a fresh, Palm Springs-inspired version of her retro roots, with just a touch of glam.
Here’s Millie, the second caravan off the rank:
With ‘Millie’, Carlene went for a stronger, navy blue and crisp white again to create a strong beachy vibe, with pin stripe detailing along the exterior and plenty of creature comforts in the interior – soft upholstered cushions for seats in the timber-lined dining nook, brass wall lights over the sleeping area, which cleverly couples a queen sized bed beneath two suspended bunks.
