One of Sydney’s newest hotels, The Paramount House Hotel has just taken out the top spot at the 2018 Gourmet Traveller Australian Hotel Awards.
The boutique hotel in Sydney’s Surry Hills opened just two months ago but it is already making quite the name for itself.
The 29-room hotel is located inside a 1940s warehouse which was once the headquarters of Paramount Picture Studios; alongside co-tenants Golden Age Cinema and is the brainchild of Russell Beard and his business partner Mark Dundon — who are also behind Paramount Coffee Project, Reuben Hills and Melbourne’s Seven Seeds.
“We hope to encapsulate the spirit of Surry Hills and offer the guest an immersive local community experience,” co-owner Ping Jin Ng told Concrete Playground back in March. “We are considered but not staged, generous but not lavish and we will offer a memorable and inspiring stay — not just comfortable and slick.”
