Give your interiors a giddy up.

If you’ve found yourself glued to the screen watching Ransom Canyon on Netflix, you’re not alone. The drama might be addictive, but it’s the interiors that truly steal the show. With sprawling ranch homes, weathered timber textures and warm, lived-in layers, the show serves up a visual feast for anyone with a love of country style – especially the elevated kind. We’re calling this ‘Rich Ranch’ style: rustic charm meets subtle luxury, where worn leather, vintage finds, stone fireplaces and wide-open spaces combine.

Wait, is Ransom Canyon a real place?

The setting feels so tangible, it’s hard not to wonder if it’s a real place you could visit. And yes, there is a real Ransom Canyon in Texas – but it’s not quite the bustling small town shown on screen. According to Tudum by Netflix, the real Ransom Canyon is more a picturesque piece of land than a lively township. The series is set in Texas, but its sweeping vistas and sunlit porches were filmed in New Mexico, around Albuquerque and Santa Fe. The result is a setting that feels both grounded and stirring – just the kind of inspiration we turn to when curating timeless, character-filled interiors.

So how do you bring a little of that Rich Ranch magic into your own home? It’s all about texture, warm tones and a lived-in sense of elegance – where practicality meets polish, and every piece feels like it has a story. Whether you’re styling a country homestead or a city apartment, these five ideas will help you channel the charm of Ransom Canyon with a refined, ranch-inspired twist.

Recreate the ranch style interiors in Ransom Canyon

Five key ways to bring the show’s signature ranch decor into your home.

1. Layer leather and raw timber

Nothing says ranch living like the mix of buttery leather and time-worn timber. In Ransom Canyon, these materials are everywhere – from the generous armchairs in the living rooms to the rough-hewn dining tables. To recreate the look, opt for oversized leather sofas or club chairs in rich cognac or saddle tones. Pair them with reclaimed timber furniture – coffee tables, sideboards or exposed ceiling beams – to add authenticity and warmth.

2. Embrace stone features

Whether it’s a commanding fireplace or a rugged exterior wall, stone is a hero element of the ranch style. In the series, stonework grounds the interiors and connects them to the rugged terrain outside. To bring this look home, consider adding a stacked-stone feature wall, stone tiling in an entryway, or even stone-look wallpaper if you’re renting. The key is texture – choose finishes that feel organic and slightly imperfect for a lived-in feel.

3. Add subtle horse motifs

From wall art to bookends and embroidered cushions, horse-inspired accents nod to the ranch lifestyle without veering into kitsch. In Ransom Canyon, the equestrian influence is everywhere, but it’s always tasteful. Look for vintage prints, bronzed sculptures or even stirrup-shaped handles and hooks. Keep it curated – one or two pieces per room is plenty to tip your hat to the theme without overpowering the space.

4. Hang a statement chandelier

A key feature in many of the series’ homes – and especially the town’s dance hall – is the oversized chandelier. Whether it’s wrought iron, antler-inspired or timber-framed, a statement light fixture adds drama and draws the eye upward, perfect for high ceilings or open-plan living. Choose one that contrasts slightly with the other finishes in the room for maximum effect. Think rustic elegance with western flair.

5. Designate a mudroom (or mudroom moment)

Life on the land means a little dirt – and Ransom Canyon homes are ready for it. A mudroom, no matter how modest, brings practicality with style. If you don’t have space for a full room, create a mudroom ‘moment’ in your entryway with bench seating, wall hooks and woven baskets for boots and hats. Choose hardy, tactile materials – slate floors, timber benches or aged metal hooks – to keep it functional but beautiful.
