Here is a simple step-by-step tutorial on how to re-use and upcycle accessories you already have to create an on-trend floral headband.

What you’ll need:

  • Headband
  • Ribbon
  • Used fake flowers
  • Glue
  • Sewing thread and needle
  • Old or out-dated jewellery

Method

1. Wrap your headband

Put a line of glue on the top of the headband and below. Work quickly to wrap your ribbon around the headband and keep in place until the glue dries.

2. Add some flowers

If your flowers have wire ends – perfect! Wrap the end around the headband and secure by sewing the wire onto the headband. If you do not have extra wire, don’t fret. Sew the base of the flowers to your headband.

3. Add some sparkle

If you would like to insert some sparkle on your fascinator, you can take apart some of your old jewellery. Use pearls or necklaces to wrap around your headband for a different look.
