If you’ve ever wondered what one million flowers looks like, you’ll find out this weekend when Floriade kicks off in Canberra.
With 50 per cent more flowers than ever before, 2017 marks the milestone 30th anniversary for Floriade, the largest flower show in the Southern Hemisphere.
With this year’s theme of ‘rejuvenation’, the festivities will start on Friday evening with the inaugural Floriade Twilight Concert, and run until Sunday October 15.
This year, opening hours will be extended to 10am–7pm, and Floriade’s after-dark experience, NightFest, has been extended to run across two separate weekends, 22-24 September and 29 September–01 October, from 8pm–11pm each night.
There will also be more activities for kids this year, with opportunities to explore, discover and play amongst the gardens.
Floriade runs until October 15, 2017. For full program details, visit floriadeaustralia.com.
