Kitchen
A monochrome scheme, cupboards in Dulux Antique White USA semi-gloss, a benchtop in Caesarstone Snow and barstools from Beachwood are juxtaposed against high-gloss black cabinetry. Unique ‘Garlic’ abaca palm pendants from Illie Home & Gift make a statement overhead.
Living room
The colourful painting by local artist Pascale inspired the room’s orange and grey scheme, with splashes of blue coming courtesy of a Beachwood ‘Pineapple’ lamp and No Chintz merino wool throw. The roomy custom-made couch and ‘Caribbean’ coffee table, both from Beachwood, act as a neutral base, while the driftwood floor lamp, also Beachwood, speaks of the home’s seaside location. A low timber table and stools from Mark Tuckey tone with the original tallowwood floors.
Living room
A console, wicker baskets and white shelving unit offer chic storage against a bold black wall.
Staircase
The simple but chic staircase is crafted from solid maple with a balustrade made from yachting cable.
Main bedroom
Originally painted tired yellow, the bedroom furniture was swathed in white paint for a fresh finish against the black feature wall. For accessories, the couple turned to Beachwood, who custom-made the pendant light and matching cushion in Kravet ‘Riad’ fabric. A duo of floral prints, sourced from a local store, bring irresistible charm.
Main bathroom
In the kids’ petite bathroom, a large frameless mirror heightens the sense of space, while simple
black cabinetry and stone flooring lend contemporary flair.
Back deck
A black backdrop runs across the back deck where sandstone pavers, a table and chairs from Mark Tuckey, and a sailcloth cushion and ottoman from Beachwood lighten and brighten the space.
Pool
Privacy is assured with the dense screen of golden cane palms, some more than six metres high. A yellow Florence Broadhurst cushion from No Chintz and Turkish towel from Rust offer pops of cheery colour.
