Passionate about design herself, Terri Winter’s concept for Top 3 By Design began with a view to delivering us the best in design from Australia and all over the world – all in one store.
For over 13 years now, Top 3 has given us just that, “The 3 best items in their respective class by merit of design – everything from homewares and accessories to kitchen and dining.”
Whilst you could answer almost every need in one of Terri’s own stores, we asked her where she goes herself to seek quality, enduring design for our home.
Top 3 By Design
“We curate up to three of the best products per category in the world by merit of design, so people know there’s a high level of quality, innovation, form and function in everything we have. It’s not a matter of cutting out options, it’s a matter of limiting excess. I’m very passionate about design that changes the every day.”

Murobond Paints
“I was going to use a type of paint at home and, after speaking to Murobond Paints, found the limewash we had been looking at was inappropriate because it would have sealed the walls when we needed something to let them breathe. We weren’t even asking for advice but they cared to ask, which is why I like Murobond.”

Eco Outdoor
“I could move into Eco Outdoors. They create an environment out of their products – it’s an experience rather than just looking at samples of stone. I love them. We’re doing a few dry walls in our house as part of a renovation and even though I’m heavily involved in interiors and design, a dry wall is not my area whatsoever, so being able to see the stone in scale is important. The little samples that we looked at online were actually not the ones we went with because they looked completely different when we saw it as a wall. I love businesses that can show you how it’s done.”

David Reddy Furniture
“I’ve worked with Sydney-based Dave Reddy, who’s a cabinetmaker and joiner, since our first store. We’re using him now at home as he’s doing our kitchen. He’s got technical carpentry skills, obviously, but he’s got a design eye as well so he’s able to think on his feet. We’ve got an old house so nothing is quite square. We had a custom-made stainless-steel bench that had to be dropped in and when things weren’t working he just problem solved on the site beautifully. He’s not a throw-some-silicone-in-to-make-it-fit guy, which is great in my book!”
