Sending Christmas gifts by mail this year? Then you’ll need to put AusPost’s cut off dates for regular and express parcels in your calendar to ensure your presents arrive on time.

Last Christmas, AusPost delivered 52 million parcels across the country, and they’re preparing for an equally big year of gift-giving this December. So when exactly are the cut-off dates?

Christmas cut-off dates for regular post in Australia

The final date for sending parcels within Australia via regular post is December 18 2023. But, if you live in Western Australia or the Northern Territory, the cut off dates are slightly earlier. In Western Australia you’ll need to get your parcels posted before December 15 2023 and if you’re in the Northern Territory, the date you need to bookmark is December 14 2023.

Christmas cut-off dates for Express Post Australia

Buying Christmas gifts last minute? Express Post could be your saviour. The cut off date for express post parcels is December 21 2023 for all states excluding Western Australia and the Northern Territory. If you live in Western Australia or the Northern Territory, then December 20 2023 is the date you’ll need to highlight in your diary.

How much does it cost to send Christmas cards in Australia? 

You can send Christmas cards within Australia by mail for 65 cents a pop during the months of November and December. To send a Christmas card anywhere overseas will cost $4.
