It’s beginning to look (and sound) a lot like Christmas on the airwaves, with a host of festive ads hitting our media channels from big retailers and a host of other brands. Here are our top picks of this years lineup home and abroad.

Air New Zealand takes great joy in delivering their quirky inflight safety messages but this is closer to home – move over John Lewis, the Kiwis have taken over the North Pole….

Officeworks gets into the spirit this year by encouraging us to think carefully about the gifts we buy. Nice Aussie feel to this one.

Lego gets in on the action with their “Build together” theme and a little adventure for Santa.

In the UK, John Lewis has been bringing Christmas home for over 150 years and has established itself as the master of heartfelt Christmas advertising. Many believe Christmas begins when its ad first goes to air. Now on the airwaves and all over social media and, with the retail giant now on Australian shores, we’ve decided to join the fun.

David Jones says “Now it feels like Christmas,” with their TV ad – the star of which is a small gingerbread man on a quest to find his family in time for the big day, travelling across the world in search of them.

Myer celebrates in true Aussie style with a host of colourful characters.

Marks and Spencer (UK) sees Paddington bear makes an appearance in this neighbourhood caper

Target takes the family angle at a cracking pace.

Bonds keeps it simple, decorations aside, but for a dance troupe who don festive active wear and light up the stage in choreographed style

Aldi (UK) takes the (carrot) cake with an amorous vegetable (but we think the DJs gingerbread man may be moonlighting – watch for a cameo appearance on the Christmas table)

Debenhams (UK) goes the fairytale romance route, appealing to an older audience
