Strap on a pair of cork wedges, pull up a plastic stool, slouch in a bean bag or sit cross-legged on the terrazzo tiled floor; Sage x Clare’s new Barrku collection is a celebration of all we’re loving about Australian design, with a good dose of 1970s interior style.
Named for a far-away please in the Aboriginal dialect of Yongu, Barrku draws from the rich hues of the Australian landscape, with fun and dreamy colours taking a relaxed turn from the bright pops of mid-century retro to see our much-loved darker teals combining with crimson and hot pink. Added to the rainbow is the (so hot right now) Gen Z Yellow.
Incorporating artisanal methods of making, from embroidery, chain-stitch, hand-weaving and screen printing, to beadwork, tassels, shag and tufting, the range includes textural pieces and must-have colours to delight and contrast in your home.
Also included for the first time are block-coloured bohemian-style bedlinens for layering to create a natural, laid-back vibe. Earthy tones of blush, tobacco, moss, chambray, lilac, Aegean and moonlight evoke a sense of calm.
Kids are catered for with fun knitted and embroidered throw cushions and touch-me textures on bedlinens and coverlets.
Look out for the new ‘Play’ collection too – a complimentary sister-line to the premium Sage x Clare brand range that is more relaxed, affordable and playful – all in the Sage x Clare inimitable bohemian style.
