A unique project transformed a light-filled 100-year-old Byron Bay cottage into boutique accommodation right in the heart of the market precinct in Byron Bay.
The Barefoot Bay Cottage might just be the hottest property on HomeAway (formerly Stayz) right now. Newly renovated in “a distinctly luxe Australian coastal style paired with quintessential relaxed Byron Chic”, the interior design, decoration and fitout was carried out by Sydney design studio The Designory.
Working with B2 Construction, The Designory director Melissa Bonney was looking to create a unique experience for visitors to the three bedroom property. “Every detail is thought of, and a true home away from home has been created to allow guests to relax and indulge in the Barefoot Escapes experience.”
Instantly calming, the décor is contemporary and coastal with layers of earthy, natural textures, bright white timbers and lush plants indoors and out.
Two resort-style bathrooms and a stunning outdoor oasis give an unmistakeable beach vibe so you’ll relax as soon as you walk into the space.
“We wanted to really capture the essence of the Byron Bay area and the connection to both the lush hinterland and the beach,” says Melissa. “It was important the colour and materials palette drives the overall feel and experience of actually being in the home.” A luxe palette of fresh white, sage greens, deep navy and concrete grey tones certainly delivers.
The best part? Not only can you stay there in luxury, you can also buy all of the homewares found decorating the spaces.
