Floral affair
Two landscape designers turned their expert eye on their own Perth backyard and filled it with dense foliage, glorious flowers and eclectic silvery-hued garden beds. Spilling over a charming French inspired outdoor setting is an abundance of ‘Little White Pet’ dwarf shrub roses. For a similar bistro setting, try ‘Bella’ chairs with a marble and cast iron table from Veranda Home And Garden. The round cushions are from Bed, Bath ‘N Table
Garden princess
Alstroemeria or princess lily flowers for around nine months of the year.
Fountain feature
The antique cast iron fountain was found for a steal and its soft trickle helps block noise from the nearby highway.
Bistro chic
Classic bistro-style furniture adds a French vibe to the outdoor idyll. This bench was found at a local garden centre and the cockatoo cushion at Fly Home in Perth.
Green sanctuary
The rear garden, filled with jasmine, nasturtiums and oyster plants, has three gentle terraces and a handful of garden beds defined by aged stone salvaged from a demolition site. Natural materials are used wherever possible for boundaries, adding softness to the space.
Practical beauty
This oasis is also a practical one. Under the living room window is the vegetable patch, and dotted throughout the garden are figs, avocados, oranges, lemons, limes and olives.
In full bloom
Butterflies are drawn to the vivid blooms of blue statice , which is easy to grow, drought-tolerant and thrives in full sunlight.
