Disney’s Nutcracker themed garden at The Grounds is the closest you’ll get to visiting Disneyland in Australia. With a magical feast of flowers, festivities and snowflakes, it feels like you’re walking right into a fairytale.
The team behind one of Australia’s most instagrammable locations, The Grounds of Alexandria have created a spectacular, fantasy playground and bespoke menu creations that will transport you through the land of Snowflakes, Sweets and Flowers inspired by the realms in Disney’s Nutcracker film.
Walk through four different themed areas created with a wonderland of magic, mystery and holiday charm – a mysterious parallel world in which four realms provide an immersive, walk-through experience that will take your breathe away.
Realm 1: Land of Snowflakes
A winter wonderland filled with sparkling snowflakes and fairy-lit Christmas trees. Listen for the chime of Drosselmeyer’s Grandfather clock, it will signal the fall of fresh snow in the Land of Snowflakes three times a day.
Realm 2: Land of Sweets
A land as sweet as the Sugar Plum Fairy herself, filled with larger than life sweets of all descriptions and just as many to devour. Sugar and spice and all things nice, there’s so much to enjoy you’ll want to walk through twice!
Realm 3: Land of Flowers
Blossoms abound in this dreamy laneway overflowing with colourful cascades of flowers and light at every turn.
The Café and Potting Shed have laid on an exclusive menu inspired by The Nutcracker featuring cakes and sweet treats brought to life from the movie – spiced sponge cakes, spiralled scrolls and flamboyant and colourful fruit treats finished with edible flowers.
Decadent displays of fragrance and colour in a rose water pink pavlova, elderflower and peach sponge, garnished with flowers fresh from Hawthorne’s garden and served with fresh peach & elderflower sorbet.
Open now and running until Christmas Eve, the festival will also include themed workshops for adults and children – yet to be announced. We recommend getting in early and planning well to allow for parking and/or public transport as it’s always a popular destination – even when not transformed into a Disney wonderland!
The film will be in cinemas from November 22. Visit The Grounds for more information.
