The New York City townhouse that featured as the home of Holly Golightly in Breakfast At Tiffany’s has been put up for sale for US$15m (AUD$23.3 million). Located on New York’s Upper East Side, the brownstone’s ornate facade is clearly recognisable as the home of Audrey Hepburn’s beloved character, with even the front door remaining a very similar shade of green as it was in the original 1960s film.

Despite the interiors of Golightly’s home being filmed in a Hollywood studio, the home’s facade still featured throughout the film, making it a valuable piece of both cinematic and architectural history. While the property rose to fame in 1961, it was originally built in 1910 and retains many desirable architectural features of the era, including antique mantels, herringbone flooring, beamed ceilings and of course, that ornate front entrance.
However, since it’s glory days, the home has also undergone extensive renovations with the most recent elevating the property’s period charm with some ultra luxurious finishes. Now made up of five stories, the property offers more than 4,400 square feet of space, including a 30-foot landscaped garden and a private garden unit.
The interiors are elegantly finished, with ten foot ceilings and ornate chandeliers throughout the polished living areas. There’s also a Calacatta Gold marble chef’s kitchen with a 6-burner Wolf range with vented hood and oversized island—slightly different from the poky (but charming) kitchen that featured in the film.
The bathrooms and bedrooms are just as luxurious, with the main suite taking up the entire fourth floor, and each opulent bathroom finished with Carrara marble and deep spa-like baths. If that wasn’t enough, the fifth floor acts as a full-floor den with a wet bar, wine fridge and 123-square-foot south-facing terrace with views of the street. There’s also a further basement level with a powder room, second laundry room, and a wine cellar with two Liebherr wine fridges and cold storage.
