Looking to add some glamour to your home? Chiara and David’s home has all the swanky style you need to get inspired.
Here’s what we learned from Team WA’s reno:
Use six-star hotels as inspiration
Let’s face it, we all love a luxury hotel. Creating a hotel-like environment can help you to feel that you are on holiday every day – and isn’t that a nice feeling? Go for plump pillows, layers of blankets and throws and marble-look tiles in the bathroom and kitchen and you will create a luxe look without spending too much money.
Don’t be afraid of metallics
There are so many wonderful metallic finishes available in interiors today. Silver and gold feature walls might just be the glittery touch you need to take your design to the next level. Afraid of too much sparkle? Consider just having some metallic accessories – a silver bowl or vase, a mirror, or perhaps a silver sequined cushion.
Choose a dark colour palette
Dark colours are dramatic and moody, lending themselves to a luxurious feel. Our favourites are on-trend rich indigos or a dramatic charcoal. Great for kitchen cabinetry, or perhaps a sofa. We loved the black bath of the master suite in WA – it created the feel of an indulgent haven.
Texture can be your friend
Soft, tactile fabrics add a sense of luxury to everyday items, such as cushions and throws. Layering with texture instead of colour can create a generous feel in furnishings. Velvets are particularly great at providing that added depth of indulgence. Consider a dark velvet ottoman or lounge chair – perhaps even in your bedroom.
