The open-plan home was renovated to allow for natural light and to open up the circulation between spaces. The cooking equipment is concealed within the sculptural elements of the home to disguise the separate zones and make it one cohesive and flexible area. The pastel home is a mix of Dulux’s Natural White, Dulux Black Caviar and Dulux Colourbond Dune.

The judges commented, “To create a joyful apartment renovation in Footscray, Melbourne, the palette was selected to compliment and soften the tones of the existing structure to add warmth and visual interest to the space. Aligning with sensibility by using very muted palettes, this witty and effective design is refreshing”.
