The solution to a cramped and poky family bathroom? Annexing the adjacent study and giving it a stunning, contemporary makeover.
Interior designer Chelsea Hing used large format White Gloss wall tiles from National Tiles as the base for the new bathroom’s palette; highly reflective, they bounce extra light around the room. Slimline units – try the Cibo Glacier range for similar – enhance the sense of space. A Pozzi Ginori Q3 rectangular basin, from Reece, was chosen for its generous proportions and graceful shape, while a cut-to-fit mirror makes a chic and useful splashback.
To provide extra storage for quick-access items, a low shelf extends from the vanity unit to the bath. Clad in the same warming Floor Tech stone tiles as the floor, the shelf is not only a stylish inclusion, it also conceals internal plumbing. Robe hooks from Reece provide the perfect spot to hang towels, such as these vibrant Missoni ‘Homer’ towels from Safari Living.
Placing a full-size Caroma ‘Marina’ bath and separate shower next to each other creates a neat wet zone. Mizu tapwares are wallmounted to keep the hob free.
The step is a clever idea, concealing plumbing and helping to distinguish the wet zone from the vanity area. A wall-hung Pol ‘Sussex’ showerhead adds a contemporary touch to the minimal shower zone, while a practical Mizu 1500 chrome shelf tidies away shower accessories. Both can be found at Reece. An Ideal Standard ‘Tonic’ back-to-wall toilet is neatly tucked in next to the shower.
