To avoid crowding a small bathroom, choose one element for the feature and keep everything else as simple as possible.
That’s exactly what interior designer Michelle Burton of Designing Women did, employing clean lines and white surfaces to support the eye-catching timber veneer floating vanity. Topped with a 60mm-thick Essastone benchtop in French Black, the floating vanity’s block of colour takes this bathroom to the next level and distracts attention from its diminutive size.
Bespoke built-in joinery allowed Michelle to make full use of the available space. A narrow mirror the exact width of the wall-mounted tapware below breaks up the expanse of white and mimics the size of the adjacent cabinetry. The small space is unified by similar-shaped angular fittings, from the cabinetry handles to the undercounter basin and square toilet pan. These subtle details combine to give the bathroom a cohesive finish.
