February 9 is National Pizza Day – an excellent excuse to gather with friends and family around a wood-fired oven, pour a few drinks and crank up the music.
Sure, it’s an American tradition but it’s one we’re happy to adopt! Order home delivery or better yet make your own with our recipe below. Like most fast food Pizza is cheap and easy to make which is what makes it… fast food.
With a little planning and a lot of love you can create your own Pizza Party with friends and embrace the moment.
Here are four recipes to get the party started:
Pizza dough
Makes 2 pizza bases
2 cups plain flour
1 x 7g sachet dry yeast
1 tsp caster sugar
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
¾–1 cup warm water
Olive oil cooking spray, for greasing
Method

Sift flour into a large bowl, then stir in yeast, sugar and salt. Add oil and enough water to mix to a soft dough. Knead on a lightly floured surface until smooth.

Put dough into a lightly oiled bowl. Cover and rest in a warm place until doubled in size (about 45 minutes).
