Winning husband and wife team from House Rules 2017 have renovated an entire house on the Gold Coast and put it on the market – all in a matter of months.
Fresh from their win of Season 5 of the reality renovation show, the pair did it all again, purchasing the Broadbeach Waters property shortly after taking out the $200,000 prize money from House Rules and getting straight to work on another whole home renovation under the banner of their new company Hype Build Design.
Like the frenetic pace of the TV show however, it was a stressful process and not without its challenges. With 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, they certainly had their hands full with the renovation.
“Some of the work had already been pre-done and had council approval which is what we wanted, but we discovered the whole house was pretty much riddled with termites,” Daniella told news.com.au
“It took three days to demolish the house and another eight days to rebuild it again. We pretty much rebuilt a house in three months.”
Aaron is a carpenter – skills which undeniably contributed to their taking out the House Rules title in 2017. Daniella always demonstrated a good eye for design, which ultimately was the difference that made them stand out against other teams on the show.
The pair now specialise in home projects – from design and build to renovating and flipping properties – this is their latest project.
“It’s a two-storey modern coastal home, we raised the ceilings up to three metres high, and put a rake on them as well as a feature panel,” Daniella told news.com.au.
“We have floating stairs and Aaron built a feature wall to hold the stairs up, and there’s also a big bay window seat in the master bedroom.”
“I think we’ve got one of the biggest pools on the Gold Coast, it’s really deep with blue mosaic tiles and a retro feel, plus a big entertainment area.”
“A build never runs smoothly, even if you’re working in a kitchen space you are dealing with the stone supplier, stone masonry, the cabinet-maker and then installing mirror splashbacks so it’s a lot of people,” said Danielle who, according to news.com.au is now set to renovate another property.
