No, you’re not looking at it with rose-coloured glasses, Kmart’s new August Living range really is that beautiful. Just when you think we’ve reached peak Kmart, the store does it again, pouncing on the season’s hottest established and emerging interior design trends to release an affordable and incredibly covetable collection of furniture and homewares.
Kmart Buyer Breanna Sweep says this collection is an expression of joy inspired by nature. “Many Australians live close to the coast or nature, and they love the bring colours and highlights of their surroundings into their homes. We see that this season with some wave and shell motifs on serveware, bathroom accessories and decor pieces.” She also says that the neutrals-on-neutrals trend is still going strong. “Layers of whites and neutrals allow people to build on existing spaces in their homes, as well as add touches of boucle across furniture, decor and cushions.”
Standouts from the latest collection include multi-coloured party glassware starting at $16, a set of two wavy-edged placemats for $7 as well as the dizzying new DIY range featuring cabinet hardware, vinyl floor tiles, curtains and floating shelves.
